Parking Suggestions:

• City of Ottawa Parking Lot at Strathcona Park, corner of Range Rd and Somerset St: 34 spots, 2-hour limit. Once you park, cross the pedestrian bridge to meet us at the Rideau Sports Centre for registration.
• City of Ottawa angle parking along Donald St: 42 spots, 3-hour limit
• North River Rd and neighbouring side streets
• Rideau Sports Centre Parking Lot B (closest to North River Rd): 26 spots

NEW

OVO Snowshoe or Hike - LaRose Forest

You are invited to join a small group for an excursion to Forêt Larose. If you have never been, there are several trails that cover both short and longer distances. If Ottawa receives 10-15 cm snow on Wednesday, this might be perfect conditions for a snowshoe.

Please bring your winter hiking boots, crampons, poles and/or snowshoes for a lovely walk on some beautiful trails. This walk will take place regardless of the snow conditions.

Location: P4, 4634 Chem. Champlain Rd, Bourget, ON K0A 1E0, From the east end of Ottawa, take Frank Kenny Rd to Russell Rd. Turn left and continue for about 18 or 19 km km + till you arrive in Bourget. At the stop, turn right onto Champlain and drive approximately 2 km. Parking lots P1 and P2 will be on your right. Parking P4 is just past these spots on the left. From Fallingbrook Shopping Center, this will take approximately 40 minutes.

Safety: Now that winter is here please dress for safe winter walking! Weather dependent

• Wear shoes or boots that provide traction on snow and ice. Footwear with flat soles
• made of rubber and neoprene composite provide better traction than plastic and leather soles. Ensure boots can be done up properly to provide foot stability. Ice grippers on footwear can help you walk on hard packed snow and ice. But be careful! Grippers become dangerously slippery and must be removed before walking on smooth surfaces like stone or tile.
• Use a cane, a pair of ski poles or walking sticks to help with balance

Cleaning the Capital

Date: Sunday, 4 May, 2025
Location: Convent Glen Esso Gas Station, 6481 Jeanne d'Arc Blvd,
Start Time: 8:45 am for a 9:0 am start
Route: Volunteers will break into two groups with a group walking on each sides of Jeanne d’Arc Blvd picking up litter all the way to the corner of Fortune Blvd / Jeanne d’Arc Blvd / Vineyard. For the return to the Esso gas station groups will switch sides and check for litter on the way back.
Please Bring: Gardening gloves, and a pail. The club has a number of litter pickers but if you have your own please bring it.
Social: Volunteers will decide where they want go for brunch/lunch. One lucky volunteer will be reimbursed for their lunch by the club. So save your receipt.
