2020 Trail Director's Report

to the ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Back

In 2019 the OVO Walking Club hosted 22 events with 722 participants and 10 PTs (Permanent Trails), including a Cycle PT, with 990 participants overall. A copy of the breakdown by events and PT’s is shown below.

This year the Club will be hosting 20 events, down two from the previous year. As many members from both clubs will be attending the CVF Convention in Yellowknife in June we have decided not to put on any events during that time.

There are several new (and interesting) Special Programs starting this year within the CVF. For more information please see the walks.ca website.

For those of you who like to snowshoe and skate, remember you can get credit for the Blackburn Hamlet walk whenever you do a snowshoe walk (5 km or more) and credit for the Downtown Sports 4 PT whenever you do a skate (5 km or more). Just sign in at the walk box location then go and snowshoe or skate.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped at all the Club events throughout the year and for those who continue to look after the Walk Boxes for our various Pt’s. A big thank you to Carol Jobst who has been the Walk Box holder for the Beacon Hill PT until this year and to Maria McConkey who has volunteered to take over from Carol.

The Club will not be having a bus trip in 2020 however if there is somewhere you would like to re-visit for next year please let anyone on the Club Executive know. The earlier we can start planning the better.
